MARY LORRAINE DANROTH
i notice a theme on all of the Adoption Awareness type groups...I see the word sorry there more than any other group. I guess we're scared to upset anyone about anything we say. I'm pretty sure the kept don't say sorry as much as us adoptee's.
It's sad actually...I feel like one of the first steps for us to get better would be if a kept child actually listened to what we keep saying and at least tried to understand our words. I don't think we are any different than someone who had just lost their mother to death... Except that ours is a 'disenfranchised grief'.
wouldnt it be thoughtful if someone would say 'sorry' to us for our loss?
Although I get the feeling that that's too much to ask for. Most adoptees would never think to ask for anything as big as that.
