This book is so true to my truths that it makes me sad and it makes me wonder how many adoptees also struggle with this reality... It was about this time that I started blogging about my journey to discover my adoption truth to help me sort through it all. Joannie read the blog. She sent me an email expressing her disappointment with the information I was putting out there in the cyber-world for anyone to see (even though I had changed the names of the key players). She asked me to take the information down, claiming that some of the details provided to me in the non-identifying information were “untrue.” She felt it was an invasion of her family’s privacy. I was taken aback. Not true? You mean the story that I know and live every day about my identity and how I came into this world is riddled with untruths, cover-ups, and lies? Imagine that. I’ve lived this way my entire life.
