It seems like whenever I talk to people about how I feel and how I deal , I get the feedback that it is normal to feel the rejection and defeat of everyday life. I hate having to explain to people that it isn't normal for me to 'get over 'it'. I don't think anyone truly realizes that right from birth we are rewired to be quiet and eat our feelings of rejection. We aren't ready to talk to anyone about our failure at life. We don't even know why we feel so strongly about rejection. As we get older and start to feel comfortable about speaking aloud or we have experienced a traumatic event, we finally can talk. We hope that the one listening is open minded enough though. If they aren't then we will usually retreat back into our dark shallow pit of our 'normal' lifw.
Even when I speak to another Afoptee about their feelings they usually say it's ok and that they will get over it. The sad part is that alot of them don't ever 'get over it'.
