One of the hardest parts of being adopted is knowing that you were totally and wholly given to other people... It's like you never get to own yourself... You feel like you owe the adoptor's your life because the world reminds you that you are the property of a stranger. The world reminds you that you should be grateful that you are alive and that someone wanted you.
