MARY LORRAINE DANROTH
It surprises me how easy it is nowadays to find information on the grief that adoption can have on everyone involved. But it surprises me how no one wants to help the ones that are going through the grief. They seem to think that everyone should just ‘get over it’. Unfortunately it is so much easier said than done. As this article states ‘Doka also says that the lack of recognition of their grief often results in them holding on to it more tenaciously than they might otherwise have done.’
It saddens me to think how many people refuse to help the birth mother that doesn’t see that she needs to grieve. Just because she won’t acknowledge that she hurts deep down in her core of being doesn’t mean that she’s OK. it just means that she has buried it so far down that she is suffering silently.
When will people wake up and smell the coffee?

This article is sooo worth the read.
