Memories are the most important thing that people can have. When a person has amnesia It effects everyone close to the person especially the amnesiac. We all have intrinsic memories.. the amnesiac usually retains his intrinsic memories same as an adoptee. The first 3 years are critical for everyone which is when the good and bad intrinsic memories are formed, which is why we baby our babies. We want them to have as many positive memories as possible. When an Adoptee is born and removed from their mother ASAP they suffer trauma. A baby that is placed in an incubator suffers this trauma as well. The difference between the two is that the baby in ICU still hears the sound of their mothers voice which comforts them, the adoptee doesn't. The trauma takes a turn to the 3 F's, Fight, Flight and Freeze. The adoptee gets stuck in the Freeze usually until they come out of the Fog. And that's where I come in... Currently coming out of the 'fog', Adoption Fog that is.
